A HOME THAT FOSTERS CREATIVITY, COMMUNITY, AND CONNECTION

When we first started this project, our intention was always to ensure that we respected the structural integrity of the building. We didn’t come to 965 with a concept, nor a fixed idea of what we wanted the building to be.

What we were sure of was that we wanted to inject life back into one of the few remaining architectural gems in our beautiful city. We’ve slowly allowed the building to reveal to us what it could be, and more importantly, what it could become.

We’ve had a lot of people ask us what we are and what we’re doing. Is this a museum? A hotel? A café? A restaurant? A shop? A gallery?

965 has had a layered history, much of its story still remains unknown to us. It’s been a place where generations gathered to share memories that would last a lifetime.

We’ve heard neighbours recount their experience in 965, their childhood memories of running through our shaded courtyards. Reminiscing the smell of oyster sauce permeating through the narrow laneways of Talat Noi and slow afternoons of playing card games on the second floor. Despite its many transformations, what we are sure of is that 965 has always been a house. Our goal is to make it a home — a place that fosters community, creativity, and connection.
